[VIDEO] Interview with Gary Vaynerchuk on Building an Online Brand.

Today I did a nearly random interview with the famous Gary Vaynerchuk on skype.

This was a VERY spur of the moment interview.  Basically, I commented on Gary’s facebook status and within 15 minutes we were talking via video chat.

Being from New York City, I’ve been a fan of Gary’s for years, and had a blast interviewing him.

The questions I ask Gary Vaynerchuk are:

1. What are 2 tips on building your brand online?

2. What predications do you have for 2013?

3. Last year we saw instagram and Pinterest expand rapidly, do you feel there will be a new thing to BLOW up in 2013?

4. What is one thing someone should NOT do, what is the biggest mistake to make online?

5.  How big has VaynerMedia gotten in the last 12 months?

6. How long do you see the “Make Money Online” niche lasting?

7. What tips do you have for someone undecided on their passion?

8. Do you have a new book planned?

9. What is your 30 second advice for executing your business in 2013?

Find out his answers to these questions and more in the video below:

I am not sure that work your face off is exactly the way he would say that in every situation.

Harold if you’ve followed GaryVee before, you’ll notice he’s always pushing the concept of “hustle” till you win!

Nice job, Cory! Not sure how you came up with those awesome questions off the cuff but you pulled it off like it was planned. Killer interview!

Thanks James - Here’s what I did, I had 3 questions ready to start, and then I tried to find a question in every answer he gave me. So in his answer of Q#7 I developed question #8.

Gary V. ROCKS! Congrats on the interview Cory. How did you get so lucky? As usual and from my own experience his best tip is to work your face off!!!! So many people don’t realize that when you get started. Cheers.

great stuff from the executioner from Jerz. The dude gets social business but most importantly he gave a crap, he put in the work to build trust and relationships online which influenced current consumers to become brand ambassadors and those brand ambassadors then became part of his social sharing army. Thanks for the great stuff and you’ve got a new fan now Cory ;-) cheers brotha

Speaking of video chat. GOOGLE+ HANGOUTS! Did my first Hangout ON-AIR today and it ROCKED! It’s free, easy, and way fun! More importantly, it’s very USEFUL and has a great suite of apps to enhance the experience.

I started to listen to his keynote speech and turned it off after I’d heard the F word about twenty times. This is not a word to be bandied about or used as it only shows a persons ignorance and lack of respect. If you want to talk to me don’t use it in every other sentence. If you have a message worth listening to you don’t need to use it at all. The problem with using this word that much is you have no respect for me or the audience and you lose any credibility. I have been in sales longer than you’ve been alive and your message got lost in the profanity. My advice to you is clean up your act and then I might listen.

    Fifteen minutes to camera?

Damn, if this was me, I’d a been doing the interview with Gary in a ski mask as when I’m working, my very long and curly hair is completely fucked 90% of the time and I’m unshaven. And my facial hair sucks so I don’t even get the credit when I roll with some shadow because it ends up looking like dirt smears on my face. So the only time I’m appearing at my best when I’m shaven Sopranos clean.

I need to quit dicking around and go out and find one of those rigs like Wesley from The Princess Bride wore that I can wear on camera. Then if an opportunity like this comes up for me, I can take that quick 15 to go shave, don my bandit do-rag thingie and show up looking smooth yet mysterious.

Congratulations Cory on being ready for this opportunity and for being fast on your feet when you were neck deep in it. :)
