Mail Big files – Free and Easily
Are there times when you have a large file that you want to send someone – but you know your limit on sending emails is the usual 10-Mb limit?
Sometimes you can divide your file into smaller ones, or make the size of a picture file smaller, by editing it.
There is an easier way to send large files, as they are, for free.
Let’s say you want to send someone a movie that you’ve done, about your recent trip. And you only want to send it to the one person you travelled with.
You can certainly share the file by Dropbox or Google Drive – but then you have to have an account with tthem
The usual big file services, are where you ‘upload’ your movie file to a website, where they hold it in their computer storage area. You let your friend know where that is, and they ‘download’ it into their computer.
Actually there are quite a lot of sites that can do this. One example is SendThisFile. This site, like many others is great, but you sign up for a free account before you can upload your file.
Here is a great site that you don’t even have to sign up for an account – if your file is under 200Mb, and your friend downloads within 3 days.
It’s called MailBigFile. You can have a paid account, if you have bigger files, and need more features – and that’s really cheap from $29 per YEAR! But for most of us, we only want to do this every now and again, so this is just great for us. Look for the **Transfer large files for Free now** button (see the picture below)
I’ll be honest – I did this article a long time ago for my members.
But I’m pleased to see that the business is still around, the service is still free, and there’s still no signup required.
So, this is still a good resource, especially if you want a free option.
I’ve used it, it works just great, I hope it helps you one day.
