One of the best ways to get your music out there online is through links. Think about it, only if someone clicks on your link online, will they ever get to your website, buy your music, or share your stuff. And the best way to get links to targeted people who are ready to buy your music, is through blogging.
Most plugins will cost you at least $20 a month to keep your blog looking like everyone else’s free website. Or you can do what I recommend you do which is get the Kalatu blogging system, and provide links as an affiliate, so you can make your money back (or heaven forbid make money!).
Here’s 7 other link ideas to help make your blog a profitable one!
1.) iTunes or Other Music Sales Sites – Websites are a great way to get your music out there. What’s even better is a blog that can tell your story, be found by the search engines through articles, and link to your iTunes or another music sales site like CDBaby.
2.) PayPal – Want to set up a tip jar? Have a new CD you haven’t released yet? Maybe you’d like to write a book? It’s very easy to link to your paypal by choosing the e-mail link. This is a great way to earn more revenue through your blog.
3.) Crowdfunding – Looking to start a crowdfunding campaign? This is a great way to share that link with your fans every time you have something new to tell them, encourage them to visit your crowdfunding page. Here’s some tips on crowdfunding and some great crowdfunding sites.
4.) Increase YouTube Views and Make Money on Ads – The misconception about YouTube is that you get paid for the amount of views. The truth is that you get paid for when people click on ads in or during your YouTube video. However, increasing your views externally, can help increase the amount of views that get seen internally and therefore increase the likely-hood of someone clicking on an ad and you getting a cut. Below is a video that through blogging strategies has helped me get over 72,ooo views on this video alone.
5.) Capture More E-Mails – Every time you share your story on a blog article, it’s a great idea to offer something in exchange for other people’s e-mails. Since I blog for musicians and entrepreneurs, that’s my target audience. So I try to share something they would like. For example recently I put together a pdf called, “How to Go From Dream to Execution.” The hardest part here is getting to know what your audience wants. I’ve tried to do this in the past for others, but the truth is that you’ll know more about the heart and soul of those that buy from you more than anyone else.
6.) Affiliate Links – Businesses like Walmart and Amazon pay people to become affiliates through linking on blog sites. LeadPages which I use to capture more e-mails also has an affiliate program where you can earn money when people click on your link and buy.
7.) MLM Links – Make some extra cash by getting involved with an MLM. I recently joined Advocare because I love their products and because I get a 20% discount just for joining as an affiliate member. And I’ll be honest, I’d much rather write an article or stick in a link than do a home meeting any day. The only thing to be cautious of is that there are some companies out there who have given MLMs a bad name, and some people think they’re all alike. They’re not.
