10 Strategies for Blog Content
Check your bookshelf!
No doubt over the years you have collected some books because of your interests, experiences, inquisitiveness, or even inspiration. Think about the number 1 reason you bought the book and flick thru it to find some nuggets or lists to share. Mention the name of the book you are reading and tips that might be beneficial to your readers.
If you are an Amazon Affiliate, add your link in the text and if someone buys any book through your affiliate link, they are actually “cookied” to you. Then if they come back to Amazon to buy another product, like a television then you still get a commission because your link is still associated to them via their cookies.

Library or Book Store
This is similar to the Bookshelf tip. You may not buy a book, but look at what is hot or trending! If you are talking about or reviewing the book, what questions and value does it provide and write about it? You might just have the author or agent contact you because of your review and establish a relationship because of the value shared about their book.
Listen to anything that is inspirational, such as a video, audio, while watching a television show or movie. When you are reminded of some aspect of your business or industry be inspired to write about it in a blog post. You cant go wrong with news that people are currently talking about or trending on social media…just give it your own spin!
If you are an affiliate marketer, “create and build an in between”!
Study the material from the affiliate page and do a quick video talking about 3 tips that the product can offer. This provides value to the potential customer with a deeper insight, by telling them what is on the other side when they buy the product.
Affiliate Course Sharing
Invest, Learn, Teach!
Invest your time and money to learn new skills and then take what you have learned and teach and share the value as content! Which is what Im doing on this blog post! Learn your top 3, 5 or 10 takeaways and tell them where they can get more information. Then they click on your product affiliate link with the potential to earn you a commission!
Conversations that come from your clients, team mates or people you work with, or questions people have asked in forums. Look at what good topic comes out of the conversation. Use the lesson, keep a notepad if you have a blog idea for later. My favourite tools are Trello and Drop Task to help store information that I want to refer to later.
Take notes from the events or training that you attend no matter what niche or market place you are in and turn it into content to share. Once again, use the ILT method….Invest, Learn and Teach! If you just keep piling up your notes that you have taken from programs and training you have invested in, its like treating your notes like un-cashed cheques!
If you are not doing anything with your notes, then you are forcing yourself to working harder!
This was a big AHA moment for me!
People love quotes from niche leaders and influential people!
Here is a Ninja Trick….
Use Click to Tweet! Its a a very powerful way to get people sharing your content, thus drives more traffic with a free service and an option for $4.97 pm. You can configure a url that when clicked it will open up the visitors twitter to tweet whatever you program in there.
One of the most tweeted things are quotes! If you have a quote to tweet, use the Click to Tweet method.
Look for influential people in different market places on Twitter and look for their quotes. Configure your Click to Tweet to mention them, yourself and a bit.ly link back to your blog!.
Here are the steps:
- Get a quote by a popular leader.
- Go to Click to Tweet.com
- Make sure it:
- Mentions the popular leader
- Mentions their quote
- Mentions you
- Has a bit.ly link back to your blog post.
Its an easy way to get your name in front of influential leaders who have a huge following.
Publish your blog post first, then grab your blog URL and get it shorten thru Bit.ly .
Then go back to your blog and enter the text >>>Click to Tweet>>> and link it with the link generated from ClicktoTweet.
The Richest people in the world don’t have pay cheques! Robert Kiyosaki >>>Click to Tweet this quote>>>
This will give you serious engagement on Twitter!
Surveys are a great way to get feedback from your audience if you are looking to come up with your own product.

Depending on your niche market, if it was blogging for example, you could ask:
- What is your No 1 reason you are blogging?
- What is your No 1 struggle with your blog?
- If you are not blogging, what’s the No 1 reason why?
This provides key intelligence to create your products and to create a sales page or content. Surveys are really popular and powerful and most big time gurus use this technique all the time to meet their customer needs.
Stories and Interviews
If you hear a great story, see if you can get an interview. Best stories are always the Rags to Riches, or Struggle to Success which exist in your niche, that are important to you.
Hunt down those stories and see if you can get an interview. When you ask for an interview, be a “puppy” not a “pitbull”. In other words, be cool and grateful and say something like, “Hey Im a big fan of yours, I love your work and Im just getting started. I love what you said about …………….. in …………….. It would just be a 5 min interview by audio or video whatever would be easier for you.”
Find authors who have published a new book as you will have a better chance of scoring an interview!
Dont know where to start?
Check out Amazon and reach out to them or someone who recently launched a course. Be an Affiliate and earn a commission!
Watch this video below to hear what Robert Kiyosaki has to say in the interview…you might just find some useful content for your next blog!
